Call For Twelfth Night Bids By September 15

5 Apr

From Gabriel and Caoilfhionn, Baron and Baroness, greetings!

Twelfth Night is one of the highlights of the year in both Nordskogen and Northshield. As you all know, we were unable to have the event last year due to COVID, but it is now time to consider whether we want to have it this coming January! We need to make this decision soon in order to have planning time.

We have held Twelfth Night at Lord of Life Church over the last several years, and they are currently open to outside rentals. However, if you have a different site, we are always willing to consider it. Several experienced members have expressed interest in mentoring or serving on staff, so help is already available.

In all seriousness, it will be fine if we do not hold a Twelfth Night this year. COVID rates are spiking again, and the rapidly changing public health situation means every plan must be flexible. We are also open to bids for a moot or an online-only event. That said, if it turns out to be possible to hold the usual event, planning must begin next month.

If you are interested in being our event steward for Twelfth Night in January 2022, please submit a bid by the next business meeting, September 15, for the Barony to consider. If we have no bids, we will officially put the event off until 2023.

If you are interested but not sure of procedure, please email Seneschal Jehanette at seneschal@nordskogen.org. The policies for event bids are available at https://nordskogen.org/…/2014/12/2013-General-Policies.pdf
